The Challenge

As an addition to the house, this space needed to coexist with the classic interior design found throughout the house. However, as the clients wanted this room to be more modern since it is meant to be a gathering, recreational space.

The Solution

The transition from classic décor and design to contemporary was accomplished through the openness of the floor plan but also through the thoughtful use of materials.

The sink and hardware have a more traditional and antique look, while the simulated live edge countertop and open shelves with integrated lighting make the space more modern. This design creates a perfect balance between the two styles!

The flush built-in bookcases provide plenty of space for storage and they are also a good place to hide outlets. These custom pieces also have interior lighting!
