Melissa has been in the construction and design business for 17 years, but came to us in 2013 with a BFA in Interior Design from James Madison University and a Masters in Architecture from Virginia Tech. Melissa has worked for award-winning architects and interior designers in the Richmond area and she has also taught architecture and design at the University of Louisiana.
At CKI, Melissa combines a unique skill set with an understanding of the construction process. She has an acute attention to detail and takes on every single one of her clients’ projects as if it was for her own home. Because of this, she fortifies strong client relationships and has developed long-lasting friendships through this process.
When she’s not designing custom kitchens and baths, Melissa thrives on being a new mother to her 1 year old daughter, Tallulah James, exploring Virginia’s craft breweries and wineries, cooking up gourmet meals, along with caring for her chickens and cats, Scarlett & Julep - two true Southern belles!
